栏目索引与简介

《英语新闻学》这门课包括很多内容，例如：News Writing and Broadcasting，Newspaper Production，etc. 本栏目编辑整理的内容只能给大家一点入门知识。英语专业的同学可以借鉴南京大学同学的英语新闻习作，写出有自己特色的英语新闻与大家交流。

    本栏目选择的材料主要来自南京大学外国语学院编写的《英语新闻学》（网络版），版权归南京大学外国语学院和上这门课的二位老师,请不要转载或用于学习与研究以外的目的。

These courses are designed to help students develop an understanding to basic news writing principles and acquire practical skills of printed and broadcast news writing.

Basis Requirements:

Listening: Participants in these courses are required to listen to the new programs on VOA and BBC.

Speaking: They are required to report to the class what they hear on the radio and what they think of the issues being covered. In addition, they should read their own broadcast stories and record their voices on the computer. 

Reading: They are required to read English journal publications, including China Daily, and 21^st Century. They are also required to read and comment on works by other students.

Writing: News writing is the core of journalism, so the students in these courses are expected to follow a hands-on approach by writing, writing, and writing a lot. The courses are recursive and repeat around a cycle of four C's. That is,

(1) Conceive, a stage at which you develop the idea for a story;

(2) Collect, the reporting stage at which you gather information through interviews and research;

(3) Construct, the writing stage at which you complete the first draft of your story; and

(4) Correct, the revision stage at which you polish your story, put it on the web-page or submit it to a paper.
